I can’t call myself a gold digger because I am certainly not. I have never cared about the money a man earns or whether or not he owns a house. None of that stuff has ever mattered to me throughout my dating life. Recently I have been messaging back and forth with an attractive 30 year old single father. He has shown interest in me while I have been responding politely and trying not to allow it to go any further than just responding with a polite greeting. I have my reasons to be cautious and it’s not all financially speaking but I admit it is a big chunk of it. |
When I first looked over his profile the thing that stood out to me was his career. He works at Sears and proudly states he loves his job earning $9.00 an hour selling microwaves. Now, I am all for people loving their job adn doing something they enjoy. The part I am having a hard time swallowing is that he works as a sales clerk for Sears. I know, I know with the way the economy is right now I should just be grateful that he has a job but I just don’t know if I could see myself with someone that earns a considerable amount lower than me. I can hardly support myself on my income and I just always saw myself with someone that earned at least the same amount or more than I do. I’m not saying he needs to be rich but I guess I am saying he needs to do “alright” financially. Am I the only one who feels this way?
Oh and here’s the other confusing part. So he originally met me on a social network…ok, ok, you got me. It was MySpace. Anyhow, he then found me on a dating site and only contacted me on teh dating site saying it must be a sign because he found me again. When I looked over his dating profile he states that his job is in law enforcement. So why would he say he worked at Sears on his Myspace and then say another on a dating site. Was he just kidding? Did he not want to put law enforcement on his MySpace so as to protect his personal info? *sigh* I should just ask him what he does for a living.
