Technology Can Put A Damper On Online Dating

Martin

Its been almost a week since I last heard from Martin. He wrote me twice last Friday and now nothing for almost an entire 7 days. This is seriously too slow for me. I think he just hasn’t made up his mind about me. According to yahoo, he “viewed” my profile yesterday. Sheesh, I hate these online dating games.

Cole

Cole from yahoo also started emailing me. I am sensing we are having some major technology issues. He contacts me via yahoo and asks for my personal email address and wants me to write him at his personal email, so i did and he never responded. Instead, the next morning I get another message via yahoo personals form him telling me he will write me back. then this morning I wake up to an email where he is asking me to confirm that I received the email and that he really wants to talk to me. So I email him back asking if he never received my previous email sent to his account.

This is what happens when spam filters go crazy. You never know if you have become an online dater’s spam.

I think all of these forms of contact puts a huge damper on getting to know someone. I have a feeling Cole is trying to lead this into chatting on Yahoo which I detest. I think yahoo chat kills chemistry right away, if there was even just a smidge of it.

Paul

I actually decided to reactivate my POF account. I got messaged last night by a single father named Paul. He’s a Christian and he cooks! Sounds perfect to me! haha. I enjoyed my short conversation with him (it was 1 am) and I look forward to getting to know him better. His profile indicates he is ready for long-term and did I mention he is cute?! He’s a year older than me which will quickly change next month. Then we will be the same age.
